How to Start a New Game in Pokémon Scarlet
Pokémon Scarlet is the latest edition of the long-running Pokémon video game franchise. As with other Pokémon RPGs, the first step in playing Pokémon Scarlet is starting a new game. Here’s what you need to know to get started.
1. Choose a File
When you start up Pokémon Scarlet, you’ll be prompted to choose a file. If this is your first time playing, you’ll only have one option: “New Game”.
2. Name Your Character
The next step is to name your character. You’ll be given a choice of male or female avatars, as well as a random selection of names to choose from. If none of the names appeals to you, you can enter your own name.
3. Pick YOUR Starter Pokémon
The fun starts here! You’ll be given the option to choose one of three starter Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Each has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, so make sure to pick the one that best suits your playing style.
4. Start Your Adventure
Once you’ve picked your Pokémon, you’re ready to start your adventure! You’ll begin in the small town of Dewford, where you’ll be tasked with completing various tasks and exploring the region. It’s up to you how your story progresses; will you become a champion Pokémon trainer? That’s up to you to decide!
Tips for Getting Started
- Take your time: Don’t rush your journey. Explore the region and take your time getting to know the characters and their stories.
- Make use of Gym Battles: Gym Battles are an important way to gain experience and power up your Pokémon. Make sure to take on as many Gym Leaders as you can!
- Talk to NPCs: Non-player characters (NPCs) can provide you with items and crucial information for your journey. Take the time to talk to NPCs and you may be rewarded with special items or valuable secrets!
Starting a new game in Pokémon Scarlet is the first step on your adventure. With a bit of preparation and the tips above, you’re sure to become a champion Pokémon trainer in no time!
