Michigan’s 2022 Bowl Game Outlook
Now that the 2021 college football season is complete and bowl game season is upon us, there is already plenty of speculation regarding which bowl game theMichigan Wolverines will play in 2022. Let’s take a look at the possibilities:
Possibilities for Michigan 2022 Bowl Game
- Fiesta Bowl: The Fiesta Bowl is traditionally played in Glendale, AZ, making it a great opportunity for fans to travel and cheer on their Wolverines. Unfortunately, they would likely need to finish in the top 5 of the Big Ten to qualify for a slot in this prestigious bowl game.
- Cotton Bowl: The Cotton Bowl is held in Arlington, Texas and is another strong contender for the Wolverines. The bowl usually requires a team to finish in the top 10 of the BigTen Conference in order to quality, or at the very least be within a reasonable margin of the top 10.
- Outback Bowl: The Outback Bowl is located in Tampa, FL and this is where things get interesting for the Wolverines. The bowl might not require the Wolverines to finish in the top 10 of the Big Ten standings. There is also a chance of them participating if they finish slightly higher than their projected ranking.
One thing is for sure – the Wolverines will need to exceed expectations and show significant improvement in order to qualify for a spot in any of the major bowl games in 2022. They will need to put together a solid season and continue to build off the success they had in 2021.
The 2022 bowl game picture is still up in the air for theMichiganWolverines and it will all depend on how they perform in the regular season. It’s also important to remember that even with a successful season, the Wolverines will likely still be vying for a spot in one of the lower-tier bowls. But, anything is possible and if the team can string together some solid wins and exceed expectations, they may just find themselves in the Big Ten Championship Game, or even one of the elite bowl games.
