Oregon Ducks win Football Game Against Washington Huskies
The Oregon Ducks defeated the Washington Huskies in an impressive football victory on Saturday afternoon. Oregon’s defense shut down the Huskies offense and the Ducks offensive attack put up big points to seal the deal.
Offense Comes Out Swinging
The Oregon offense came out of the gates swinging, scoring touchdowns on their first three possessions and never let up. Justin Herbert had an impressive game, throwing for four touchdowns and the Ducks running backs combined for 140 yards, of which CJ Verdell had a career high of 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Defense Stops Huskies in Their Tracks
The Oregon defense also had a great showing, allowing only two touchdowns in the entire game. The Duck’s defense flew to the ball, making plays all day and shutting down the Huskies offense, holding them to only 11 yards of total offense in the second half. The highlight of the game came when linebacker La’Mar Winston broke up a pass in the end zone late in the fourth quarter, preventing a Huskies touchdown.
Head Coach Mario Cristobal was very pleased with the team’s performance:
- “If we would have stopped them at the end there, that would have been legendary. We got the job done, and it was a big win for us.”
- “It was a great team effort. Everyone was dialed-in, and we executed our game plan.”
