Tennessee Vols Football Victorious
The Tennessee Volunteers Football Team made a triumphant return to the gridiron today, securing their first victory of the season. Fans and critics alike are crediting their newfound success to the new head coach, Jeremy Pruitt.
Coach Pruitt
Coach Pruitt is a long time college coaching veteran, having worked in top programs such as Alabama, Georgia, and Florida State. His appointments are seen as a sign of the program taking a step in the right direction, as they look to rebuild their program back to the level of prestige they had in decades past.
The Game
The Vols faced off against the Georgia State Panthers, and the game was a hard fought battle throughout. Tennessee found themselves in a 6-point lead at halftime thanks to the play of running back Jeb Blazevich, and the defense which forced 5 turnovers throughout the game. In the second half, the Vols defense stayed stout and was able to keep Georgia State out of the end zone, en route to a 19-7 victory.
Notable Performances
The Tennessee defense put on a show for the fans in attendance, and a few players stood out from the bunch:
- Jeb Blazevich – 133 yards on the ground, 1 TD
- Tyler Cooper – 2 INT, 4 pass breakups

The Tennessee Volunteers have begun the 2020 season in the win column, and it looks like this team has turned the corner under Coach Pruitt. After an 0-12 record in 2019, the Vols have high hopes for the season and this performance may be a sign of things to come.
